People end up looking for this kind of help for fairly ordinary reasons. Marketing needs to grow but there's no one who can write, design and run campaigns at the pace the business wants. Team size matters too — a two-person shop gives you close attention but limited bandwidth, while a 200-person firm can staff a large implementation but may put you a few layers from the people actually doing the work. When comparing them, look at what they've actually shipped for companies your size, whether they're paid for a project or a retainer, and whether they're generalists you'll need to manage closely or specialists who can be trusted to just get the specific job done.
